Australian Pitcher Plant - MediumCephalotus follicularis naturally grows in SW Australia. Keep it damp but not wet and in temps from 65° - 85° F. Does best in 50% shade with humidity above 60%. Cephalotus follicularis needs no dormancy. See the Cephalotus care section for more info. The medium cephalotus produce pitchers roughly half the mature size. While being rooted in well they do not have the numerous roots the large ones do. They will produce large size pitchers in 6 months to a year. These plants are plenty large enough to enjoy and to me are the best choice for the money. Average pitcher heights range from 3/8" - 1/2" Cephalotus enjoys well drained airy soil. You can use peat moss, perlite, charcoal, coconut husk or long fiber sphagnum moss in their soil. We sell pre-mixed Cephalotus soil if you don't want to mix your own. 100% Long Fiber Sphagnum moss works well too. You should start these in a pot large enough to not disturb them for a year or so. This will allow them to get settled in well. For Large and Medium a 6" - 8" pot is best. Care sheet included.
